Batting .1000

and I'm not talking baseball.

It's just not my week for things to go right.

*Sigh*

Haven't gotten the promised info from Unemployment (they say it's because of my address); I got totally lost at Rose State today; and wired got crossed about getting together with someone over lunch.

And it's only Tuesday.

I'm ready to tear my hair out in frustration! I just want to get things done so I can go back to school, get a place to live (that's not with my mother), and get a job.

Then there's the money order that never got to its destination. Great. One more thing that's gone not right.

The only thing that's gone right for me is that I was able to re-register to vote.

The weirdest things are happening to me...

or "You went all the way to Kansas for that?!"

I'm having the strangest dreams, having weird conversations with people I know pretty well, having people I haven't heard from in 25 years get in touch with me, and making enchiladas.

Mom swears I've made them before I went to Wyoming, but I can't seem to recall ever doing so. They were good though.

I had the strangest text messaging session with Vincent last night. He was on his way back from Kansas of all places. I asked why he went there, and he said he was clubbing. I teased him about that, saying something like, "what? the clubs here aren't good enough?"

Well, it seems that there are nudie clubs in Kansas, and Vincent said that he had to get it where he can because he was lonely. I don't even want to think about what that meant, and since it was one in the morning when this took place, I was really too tired to make a smart ass comment.

Yeah, Vincent needs a gal in his life. He has a lot to offer a nice gal in his age range.

And, my weird dream of the week took place at the broadcasting school. That I had just been there a little more than a week before probably had something to do with it. But it was just weird...

Tomorrow or Wednesday, I'm heading up to Rose State to talk to someone about enrolling for the spring semester that begins in January. Then, maybe I'll head over to Del City and talk to Ben about getting another radio gig. And talk to Larry about life in general.

Let's see how this shakes out.

Gotta stop having those microwave cake things that Daniel brings home from work right before bed.

I have a new goal in life...

I want to write a banned book.

I know I have that book in me somewhere. I just have to know where and how to look.

I can see it now: My Book (whatever it ends up being called)-- Banned in Boston; doesn't play in Peoria; thrown on the fire in some out of the way Bible Belt town.

First things first, though. I have to move and get settled in OKC. Get a job. And, get on with it.

So there.

Why do people think they can call/IM/text me in the middle of the night?

I'm still sleeping at 5am these days...

Saon called the other night around 11:30pm, on the pretext of giving me his new cell phone number. But what he really wanted to talk about is me moving to Louisiana to take a radio job. So he can be with me again.

I didn't tell him this, but there is no f'n way I'm going to put myself through all his shit again. I deserve much better than that. We can still be friends, but he blew whatever chance he had of us being a couple three years ago when he decided to cheat on me while I was visiting him in Gretna.

Maybe surviving the hurricane last year did change him somewhat, but he's still the same person. There is no chance that I can be anything other than his friend. He even said that, if he had the money, he'd come up here and help me move. As much as I would appreciate that, that would be sending the wrong message to him.

Friends... that's it, Saon. And if that hurts your feelings, I'm sorry. You've put me through enough hell, thankyouverymuch.

I'm in the process of giving away all the stuff that got sent to me last week. I'd say about 99% of it is stuff I wish they'd gotten rid of before filling six boxes with it. My files and my books, and the few clothes I had packed in a duffle bag is really all I needed. That could have taken up about 2 boxes.

I'm going to pack my clothes and my household stuff (toaster oven, dishes, silverware, etc) in one big box. Everything else either gets sold or given away.

I need to take my glasses back and have them adjusted. They are driving me nuts!

I've been doing a little bit of blog surfing here at the library. It's so good to read other people's blogs again. I've even found a couple that are quite interesting and enlightening.

I can't wait to get back to Oklahoma! But there are things here I have to take care of first.

Making plans...

As of this morning, I have accomplished the following:

*applied for unemployment
*did an online search for housing in the Oklahoma City Metro
*requested information from a local (OKC Metro, again) college about attending classes in January
*made several phone calls in regards to moving back to OKC
*picked up my last paycheck
*picked up my new glasses (and they're driving me nuts, so back they go on Monday)
*went grocery shopping
*unpacked the six boxes that arrived yesterday so I can condense the contents into two boxes (i.e. there's a lot of crap that my family sent me that I have no further use for
*started cleaning my apartment so I can get my deposit back
*wrote a statement of affirmation on the dry erase board in my kitchen

Now, the waiting begins.

I have to sell the bed and nightstands that I just bought last month because I have no way to ship them to Oklahoma. What I can't take on the plane will get shipped via UPS to my mom's house, which I hope is only four boxes (two from the stuff the family sent and two of my household goods).

I will be keeping busy so I don't have time to dwell on all I've been through in the last couple of days. Sometimes, things just don't work out the way we hope. And that's okay. I will be returning to Oklahoma with my dignity and pride intact and my head held high. I handled the situation I faced with maturity and grace. I am not ashamed of anything I've done while I was here.

What's that quote from Albert Camus? Oh yeah... "Blessed are the hearts that can bend; they shall never be broken."
