I'm with you, Mr. Iacocca

Lee Iacocca is mad as hell, and he's not going to be quiet any longer.

He's written a new book, Where Have All the Leaders Gone? In it, or rather in the excerpt I read here, he is truly pissed off. Pissed off at the fools in Washington, DC, pissed off at President Bush, and pissed off that no one's doing a damn thing about it.

He has what he's called the Nine C's of Leadership. If you don't read anything else in the excerpt, read that part.

Lee Iacocca can get away with that stuff, the being mad as hell stuff. When I do it, I'm told that I haven't a clue what I am talking about, and to please shut the fuck up.

So I won't talk politics. I think the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is an idiot. How can a man with a Yale education be so damn dumb?

I'm going to add Lee Iacocca's book to my book wish list. He has a lot to say.

I thought I had this taken care of years ago...

but, on Tuesday, it landed me on my ass. Oh, my long absent sciatica! Why didn't you stay gone, for God's sake!

It was like someone reached inside my back, grabbed the nerve that runs down my right leg and pulled with all their might. Then they let go and it still friggin hurts!

I feel like that Garth Brooks song: I'm much too young to feel this damn old! It's almost like my brain is 30 and my body insists that it's almost 43, and what the hell do you think you're doin', Stef?!

So guess who didn't get to vote on Tuesday because she was in a lot of pain?

I have my own little election thingy going on here though--

Goes something like this:

Republican control of the House and the Senate: OUT!
Rumsfeld: OUT!
Istook for Governor: OUT!
Saddam: soon will be swinging from the gallows pole, so he's OUT!
My old hunk of junk: I wish it were on the way out, but has won a reprieve of sorts
K-Fed: OUT! OUT! OUT! and don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya on the way out
===

glad you're feeling better...

Tomorrow's election day...

Yay. I never thought it'd get here. That means the negative ads will finally end!

It's not the voting that gets me... I'll do that willingly whenever possible. It's the political ads that I hate the most!

Just freakin tell me WHY I should vote for you, instead of bad mouthing the other guy/gal. What's your "plan"? And don't send me to a web site to find out. You know how many people don't have a computer, or don't care to have one (i.e. my mother)? Your "plan" on the web doesn't do those without internet access a whole helluva lot of good, ya know?

No no yes yes, yes yes no no, and dirty pool

Rant Alert---

Another election is coming up next week, and it is the season for negative political ads.

In Edmond, there's the "No no yes yes" folks, and the "Yes yes no no" folks. Confused? So are the people who live in Edmond who have to vote on this issue next week.

It has something to do with keeping a park a park, or building a shopping center nearby. I think.

Yes, I am among the confused.

The one political ad that pisses me the most is the one against a man who is running for a state senate seat. The candidate in question was a public defender. Now, if you know anything about public defenders, they are told who to represent, often pro bono. So this ad says that the candidate has represented a prostitute, a drug dealer, and a rapist. And because he has represented the dregs of the earth in court, the people who paid for this ad says he can't represent "us".

"Us" doesn't include me. No one asked me what I thought. Perhaps the candidate will make a good choice. I may even vote for him, just for spite's sake.

And the so-and-so did this, and didn't do that ads that are run by so-and-so's opponent are just stupid. Or so-and-so is (fill in the blank here), and I, Mr./Ms. Opponent, am a better choice because (again, fill in the blank here).

Oh, shut up!

Once I get into that voting booth, it's my business who I vote for and why I voted for them. Don't even try to talk to me after I leave the polling place (as some dipwad tried to do during the Presidential election), cuz I'm not going to tell you a damn thing.

Go out and vote on November 7th, because if you don't vote, you don't have the right to complain about the results.

End Rant.
