Raising the roof...

Today (well, yesterday now) the roof on the house next door (that was just sold) is being replaced, so very early, I thought I was hearing a ping pong match in my sleep. Then I heard Pinky barking her fool head off (I may have even yelled at her in my sleep, I don't know). After I was fully awake, Mom told me that the departed (as in moved away) neighbor's roof was being re-done. So we got to hear that all day long.

I watched Joey today while my sister took Mom to see her lawyer. Daniel was here as well and was a big help. He didn't have to work until later in the day.

I didn't do much else today. I was really wiped out after watching Joey, so I went and took a nap for about three hours.

======================

We watched the debates, and Jeff and I were yelling at Bush the whole time. To be fair, both candidates held their ground, and it was a good clean affair. The VP candidates debate is next Tuesday, but I'm not going to watch it because everything that Cheney says I'm convinced is a bald faced lie. I'd be yelling at the TV more than listening.

There's this rumor going 'round the web that if Bush is reelected, that he will reinstate the Draft. Cheney said that is not true. There are two bills in the House now regarding this, but neither one is getting any support.

I've written about this subject several months ago. Please see this and this for more on that, so I won't go any further here. Suffice it to say that I am not in favor of a Draft.

That's all from the trenches here.
